With spring just a day away you’re probably itching to get out and enjoy the upcoming warm weather. This winter has been brutal and cabin fever is sure to have struck you and other RVers alike hard. After all, we’re made to enjoy the great outdoors.

Ohio is an outdoor lover’s paradise. Beautiful woods, hilly terrain, and a range of year round activities promises something to everyone.

Fishing | Ohio has a ton of beautiful lakes that offer incredible fishing opportunities. As long as you have an Ohio fishing license you’re permitted to fish in lakes that are 3 acres or larger. Along Lake Erie you’ll find many state parks that offer free fishing as well as piers that provide a great fishing spot.

Hiking | The list of Ohio State Parks that offer hiking trails is nearly endless. Whether you’re an advanced hiker or just starting out you’re guaranteed to find a park that has a trail that works for you. And, if you’ve got a furry friend you want to bring along, the good news is that most trails allow pets as long as they’re on a leash.

Mushroom Hunting | It might sound silly, but mushroom hunting is one of the more popular spring activities in Ohio. In fact, we even have a Mushroom Society. If you choose to go mushroom hunting be sure to take someone along who is knowledgeable so you don’t end up ingesting the toxic variety and check out the state guidelines for mushroom hunting.

Birding | Ohio is a popular rest stop for migratory birds, which makes spring time the perfect time to watch these birds heading north. Throughout April and May you’ll find warblers, shorebirds, and waterfowl. Bring your binoculars and some snacks and enjoy all that our gorgeous state has to offer.

Picnicking | The ultimate cure for cabin fever is a picnic in gorgeous spring weather. Take the time to enjoy the fresh air and blooming flowers by packing fresh deli meat, some fruit, and a water bottle. You’ll feel refreshed from the moment you step out of your car.
