Hastings Dairy in Burton is a working farm that opens its gates to visitors on select days throughout the year for tours, games, tastings, and calf playtime. At last check, admission to the tour is $6 per person and the farm is cash only.

Travel to Utica to make a stop at Velvet Ice Cream Factory which has been making ice cream since 1910. The factory offers free 30-minute tours throughout the week and an event’s calendar that includes carriage rides and live music. Have lunch at the Wheel Room Restaurant then head over to the Ice Cream Parlor to discover your newest favorite flavor.

Nickajack Farms located in North Lawrence hosts Family Fun Days and festivals throughout the year. The farm is not open everyday so call ahead to confirm their hours. And when you do visit plan to spend a few hours exploring what the farm has to offer.

A family favorite, Young’s Jersey Dairy in Yellow Springs has a “full cowlendar” of events. Purchase a wristband and have your pick of activities from batting cages to miniature golf, then head to The Golden Jersey Inn for lunch. And visit The Dairy Store to sample June’s specialty ice cream flavors.
