This year is flying by and camping season is now upon us… Memorial day is almost here! Can you believe it?
If you are looking for things to do Memorial Day weekend in and around Cleveland, here are some suggestions.
Oak Hill Festival of Flags
The Festival of Flags was first created by the town to celebrate patriotism around Memorial Day weekend. There are more than 2000 flags on display and festive decoration around the town each year for the event. Features include rides, crafts, food booths, an old car show, a baby contest, dog show, several historic exhibitions like Oak Hill’s one-room school, a quilt show, a karaoke contest, a corn hole tournament, children’s activities and an annual 5-k run.

Cuyahoga National Forest
Celebrate the National Park Service’s 100th anniversary at Ohio’s only national park. Though a short distance from the urban areas of Cleveland and Akron, Cuyahoga Valley National Park seems worlds away. The park is a refuge for native plants and wildlife, and provides routes of discovery for visitors. The winding Cuyahoga River gives way to deep forests, rolling hills, and open farmlands.

Of course, before you head out for the first time camping this year, make sure your RV is in good working order. A thorough check of all your major systems and seals is highly recommended.
